Simply drop it back in the mail by the appropriate date using the return label provided. No closet space is used up and you’re free to shop for the next perfect piece for your next outfit.
Where do you ship?
We ship throughout the United States and internationally. Increased shipping rates will apply for international shipping.
Why should I borrow instead of purchase my hat or fascinator?
Lets be real—we all want a fabulous outfit at a good deal. Hats and fascinators are pricey items that are typically only worn once or twice. Why not borrow multiple pieces for the price of one?!
When does my rental period begin and end?
Your rental period begins on the day your item is delivered to you! Our standard rental period is 4 days, however if you require a longer period we are willing to accommodate-- just email us to discuss further.
For example, if you select to have your hat or fascinator to be delivered on a Friday, this is the first day of the rental period and you would need to ship it back to us by Tuesday. In an effort to obtain accuracy in tracking, we request that you postmark your hat or fascinator back to us by noon on the last day of your rental. If your rental period ends on a Sunday or holiday, it needs to be postmarked the following business day. If you need additional time with your hat or fascinator, please arrange so in advance by contacting us—please see below for information on late fees.
How far in advance should I rent my accessory?
For big race weekends, we suggest planning as far in advance as you can. You can choose a rental date that starts the Thursday or Friday before the big day.
How do I pay for my rental ?
What if I accidentally stain or damage the item?
We understand that sometimes things happen! But if the item is returned to us with more than “regular wear and tear” you will incur the cost of repair as well as a $25 administration fee.
If the item is lost or irreparable, you will be charged the FULL RETAIL price of the item as well as a $25 administration fee.
How will I be charged if I stain or damage the item?
After you have placed your order, you will be sent a Rental Agreement form through a secure website called Formsite. It will ask you to enter a credit card. You will not be charged anything additional unless item is lost/ damaged/ late. You must complete this form to receive your rental.
How do I know my piece is clean?
We take great care in cleaning each and every one of our items when they are returned to us. Each hat is hand cleaned and inspected by our team prior to being rented out.
How much does shipping cost?
If you are in the Lexington area, we offer free local pick-up which can be arranged by contacting us. For those of you outside of Lexington, shipping is calculated at check out. International shipping is not available at this time.
What if I want my piece delivered to a hotel or location other than my home?
As long as it is a secure address and there is someone available to receive your order, we can ship anywhere!
What if return my rental late?
Sometimes we may require a quick turnaround for our rentals, therefore, you will be incur a $50/ day late fee per day that you are late.
How do I return my order?
We will include a prepaid shipping label for you to return your hat in its original packaging. If you lose or damage the hat box, a $25 fee will be charged for replacement.
Simply deposit your order with provided packaging and label, in any USPS, post office, or UPS Mailbox by noon on or before the return date. If your return date is a Sunday or bank holiday, the item must be dropped off before 12 pm of the next business day.
What if I misplace/ lose my return shipping envelope?
If you lose your return shipping envelope you are responsible for obtaining a new shipping label and returning the hat/fascinator within the rental period, otherwise you will incur a late fee of $50/day.
What if I am not happy with the item once received?
All rentals are final once shipped.
Can I cancel my order?
We get it, things happen! So, if your order has not shipped please contact customer service. Rent The Races will issue a full refund in form of store credit less a $20 cancellation fee.
Can I try on the hat or fascinator before I rent?
We are happy to offer you a chance to try on our hats before you rent! Please contact us to make an appointment.
What if I fall in love with my rental, can I purchase it?
Rent The Races does not offer items for purchase. However, under extenuating circumstances, exceptions will occasionally be granted. Feel free to email us with your request at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if I can't decide which piece to rent?
We understand picking the right hat for an outfit might be hard, so let us help you! Please email email@example.com to get our stylist's help!
What if it is raining on race day?
We know weather can be totally unpredictable, but extreme care should be taken when wearing a hat/ fascinator in the rain and it should be kept under an umbrella or covering at all times. Many of our pieces are very delicate and vulnerable to rain. If the rental piece is ruined due to weather, this renter will be held responsible for repairs or replacement.
