Charities We Support
As the founders of Rent The Races, we share a passion for the Thoroughbred industry and therefore it was important for us to include a give-back program to the sport we love so much. Our goal was to incorporate a program representative of three different aspects of the industry- the land, the people, and of course the horses. A portion of our proceeds will be allocated to these funds.
At the time of checkout, you will have the option to personally select which charity you would like your contribution to be directed to. We greatly appreciate your support.
Founded in 1995, Bluegrass Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to protect the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky through land conservation for future generations. As a nationally accredited land trust, we work on a voluntary basis with landowners, community groups, and municipalities to encourage the preservation of lands for agricultural viability, natural habitat, rural heritage, and scenic open space. Thanks to increasing community support, the Conservancy has partnered with local farm families to permanently protect over 24,500 acres.
The Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund is a 501(c)(3) charity that provides financial assistance to former jockeys who have suffered catastrophic on-track injuries. Founded in 2006, PDJF has dispersed more than $6 million to permanently disabled jockeys, most of whom have sustained paralysis or traumatic brain injuries. The Fund is a cooperative effort among race tracks, jockeys, horsemen and enthusiasts.
The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit that accredits aftercare organizations who retire, retrain and rehome Thoroughbreds following the conclusion of their racing careers and a fundraising body to support these approved organizations. In 2013, the TAA awarded $1,000,000 to 23 accredited organizations and gave out an additional $2,400,000 to 42 accredited organizations in 2014.
